dc.descriptionPropolis has been considered since ancient times as a very powerful disinfectant and natural antibiotic indicated to heal wounds, burns or to treat dermatitis. The objective of this research is to characterize the propolis produced by bees of the Apis Melifera species. and later use it to obtain toilet soap. The propolis sample was subjected to a characterization and subsequent physical-chemical analysis of the chosen cosmetic product (toilet soap), among which were: iodine number, acid number, humidity, oxidation rate, ashes, chlorides, pH, free acids, proteins, total carbohydrates and phenols. The parameters regarding the characterization of propolis were optimal for its subsequent application in the production of toilet soap. A toilet soap was obtained within the INEN 841 standards; with which it was concluded that the characterized propolis is suitable for application in cosmetic products not only for its properties but also for its good results in physical-chemical tests.en-US
dc.descriptionEl propóleo está considerado desde la antigüedad como un elemento desinfectante y antibiótico natural muy potente indicado para cicatrizar heridas, quemaduras o para tratar la dermatitis. La presente investigación tiene como objetivo caracterizar el propóleo producido por abejas de la especie Apis Melífera y posteriormente utilizarlo para obtener jabón de tocador. La muestra de propóleo fue sometida a una caracterización y posterior principales análisis físico- químico al producto cosmético elegido (jabón de tocador), dentro las cuales estaban: índice de yodo, índice de acidez, humedad, índice de oxidación, cenizas, cloruros, pH, ácidos libres, proteínas carbohidratos totales y fenoles. Los parámetros respecto a la caracterización del propóleo fueron óptimos para su posterior aplicación en la elaboración de jabón de tocador. Se obtuvo un jabón de tocador dentro de las normas INEN 841, con lo cual se concluyó que el propóleo caracterizado es apto para su aplicación en productos cosméticos no solo por sus propiedades sino también por sus buenos resultados en los ensayos físico-químicos.es-ES
