dc.descriptionThe Environmental Education Master Plan for Costa Rica was a project devised by Mario Boza and Alvaro Ugalde (considered the fathers of the National Parks of this country). It was formulated in the years 1987-88, from the Neotropical Foundation and with the support of the Mac Arthur Foundation of the United States. It was the first effort in the country with specific funding to promote Environmental Education at all levels. The work plan included various stages in order to obtain the necessary information for the formulation of the action plan. There was government support, through the creation by executive decree of a National Commission for Environmental Education, in charge of promoting its execution by the corresponding instances.en-US
dc.descriptionEl Plan Maestro de Educación Ambiental para Costa Rica fue un proyecto ideado por Mario Boza y Álvaro Ugalde (considerados los padres de los parques nacionales de este país). Se formuló en los años 1987-88, desde la Fundación    Neotrópica y con apoyo de la fundación Mac Arthur de los Estados Unidos. Fue el primer esfuerzo del país con financiamiento específico para impulsar la educación ambiental a todo nivel. El plan de trabajo incluyó diversas etapas con el fin de obtener la información necesaria para la formulación del plan de acción. Se contó con apoyo gubernamental, mediante la creación por decreto ejecutivo de una Comisión Nacional de Educación Ambiental, encargada de impulsar su ejecución por parte de las instancias correspondientes.es-ES
