dc.descriptionThe objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of replacing, forage proportions of 2 shrub legumes by Square banana fruit (Musa ABB) on nutrient content and methane production. The experiment was carried out between January and November 2017 and a factorial design with eight treatments was used. The mixtures were stored for 50 days in bags of 5.0 kg. The increase of square banana fruit reduces the concentration of CP and dNDF, while the amount of total starch and pectins increases. Regarding the ruminal parameters, the concentration of NH4 is reduced, by a reduction in the CP concentration, although it must be analyzed how much it could have been transformed into a microbial protein. The incubation time of the sample could have generated that the fiber was not degraded and this altered the proportion of the VFA. Finally, as the amount of fruit was increased, the amount of methane produced was reduced, also Poró showed a greater reduction capacity compared to Cratylia. Silage of Square bananas and legumes can provide quality nutrients and have the ability to reduce methane production, resulting in increased productivity and lower environmental impact.en-US
dc.descriptionEl objetivo de esta investigación fue evaluar el efecto de sustituir, proporciones de forraje de 2 leguminosas arbustivas por fruto de guineo cuadrado (Musa ABB) sobre el contenido de nutrimentos y producción de metano. El experimento se desarrolló entre enero y noviembre de 2017 y se utilizó un diseño factorial con ocho tratamientos. Las mezclas se almacenaron durante 50 días en bolsas de 5,0 kg.El aumentode fruto de guineo cuadrado reduce la concentración de PC y dFDN, mientras que aumenta la cantidad de almidón total y pectinas. En cuanto a los parámetros ruminales, la concentración de NH4 se reduce, por una reducción en la concentración de PC, aunque se debe analizar cuanto se pudo haber transformado en proteína microbial. El tiempo de incubación de la muestra pudo haber generado que la fibra no haya sido degradaba y esto alteró la proporción de los AGV. Finalmente, conforme se aumentó la cantidad de fruto, se redujo la cantidad de metano producido, también el Poró mostró mayor capacidad de reducción comparado con la Cratylia.Los ensilados de guineo cuadrado con leguminosas pueden aportar nutrimentos de calidad y tienen la capacidad de reducir la producción de metano, lo que resulta en un aumento de la productividad y menor impacto ambiental.es-ES
