| dc.description | During the structuring process of Brazilian Freemasonry in the early decades of the 20th century, taking a critical stance on the thesis conveyed by Sergio Buarque de Holanda, who argued that, with the establishment of the Republic, Freemasonry would have left the scene and given way to positivist ideals. Unlike the perspective conveyed by Buarque de Holanda, this idea was not effective in practice, as observed in the intellectual performance of the Freemasons, through the press and the proposed debates, which was demonstrated by the dynamics and vivacity of the institution. | en-US |
| dc.description | O presente texto procura responder questões referentes ao processo de estruturação a maçonaria nas décadas iniciais do século XX, procurando posicionando-se de maneira crítica à tese veiculada por Sergio Buarque de Holanda, o qual defendia que, com a instauração da República, a maçonaria teria saído de cena e dando lugar ao ideário positivista. O que foi possível observar ao diferente da perspectiva veiculada por Buarque de Holanda, esse ideário não se efetiva na prática, pois a atuação intelectual dos maçons demonstra a dinâmica e vivacidade que a instituição usufruía ao longo das décadas iniciais da república. | es-ES |
