| dc.description | This article analyses the historical figure of the president of Costa Rica, Jesús Jiménez Zamora (Cartago, June 18, 1823-February 12, 1897) from the point of view of his aesthetic fabrication, in the middle of the xix Century and the beginning of the xx Century. The image of Jesús Jiménez has been studied, in detail, through the historical data of Costa Rica, considering his personality as well as his performance as a politician (President of Costa Rica during 1863-1866 and 1868-1870). This is what marks that the objective of this research has to do with his plastic representations, as well as his life as a youngster and then as a senior citizen. At the same time, it will also include his rhetorical representations as a moral and nationalistic person, from the point of view of some intellectual members through Costa Rica’s historical data. | en-US |
| dc.description | El presente artículo analiza la figura histórica del presidente costarricense Jesús Jiménez Zamora (Cartago, 18 de junio de 1823-12 de febrero de 1897), desde la perspectiva de su fabricación estética, a mediados del siglo xix y los inicios del siglo xx. La figura de Jesús Jiménez ha sido estudiada, pormenorizadamente por la historiografía costarricense, desde el punto de vista de su personalidad y su labor como estadista (1863-1866 y 1868-1870). De ahí que el objetivo de esta investigación girará en torno a sus representaciones plásticas, tanto como caballero joven como caballero anciano. Asimismo, tampoco escapa de la atención de este escrito, el análisis de diversas representaciones retóricas de Jesús Jiménez como referente moral y patriótico por parte de algunos miembros de la intelectualidad costarricense. | es-ES |
