dc.descriptionCentral American literature is marked by a strong influence of it's native History and politics due to events that have guided the development of countries of the isthmus. In this context writers and intellectuals have given their grain of sand to reveal the struggles of the country to wich they belong to. This is the case of the Panamanian Gloria Guardia and her novel The last game, wich without being historic, puts into evidence the problem of the Canal, from the fragmented conciousness of one of her character in wich the public and the private atmosphere mix together, wich leads us to confirm that the oligarch-bourgeois' genealogy, the chronology of the Canal treaties and the U.S. colonialism are one urgent matter to resolve. en-US
dc.descriptionLa literatura centroamericana está marcada por un fuerte acento histórico-político debido a acontecimientos que han pautado el desarrollo de los países del istmo. En este contexto los(as) escritores(as) e intelectuales han puesto su grano de arena para evidenciar las luchas de los pueblos a los que pertenecen. Este es el caso de la panameña Gloria Guardia y su novela El último juego, que sin ser histórica, pone en el tapete el problema canalero desde la conciencia fragmentada de uno de sus personajes, en la cual se concatenan el ámbito público y el privado, lo que nos lleva a confirmar que genealogía oligarca-burguesa, cronología de los tratados canaleros y colonialismo estadounidense son un mismo asunto que urge resolver.es-ES
