| dc.description | Introduction: Studies on masculinities in Latin America have diversified their thematic axes and one of them is related to ethno-racial issues. This article presents an analysis of the masculinization of the indigenous subject, a topic that needs to be addressed and discussed in conjunction with other theoretical corpus to understand that ethnicity and gender are categories related and linked to historical processes. Objective: The objective is to present a proposal to broaden the interpretations about the masculinization of the indigenous subject, by carrying out a relational approach between gender and ethnicity, primary categories in the social and subjective construction of masculinities. Method: A hermeneutical exercise is developed from the gender perspective to delve into the interpretive act on the understanding of indigenous masculinities as a social, historical and complex construction. Emphasis is placed on historicity to have a situated approach that allows explaining that the generic construction of the subject is reminiscent of the history that is manifested in the present. Results: It is emphasized that, since masculinity is a complex phenomenon, a dialogue is required with other theoretical proposals that make it possible to broaden the understanding of the masculinization of the indigenous subject. | dc.description | Introducción: Los estudios sobre masculinidades en América Latina han diversificado sus ejes temáticos y uno de ellos es el relacionado con temas etno-raciales. Este artículo presenta un análisis sobre la masculinización del sujeto indígena, tema que necesita atenderse y discutirse en articulación con otros corpus teóricos para comprender que etnia y género son categorías relacionadas y vinculadas a procesos históricos. Objetivo: El objetivo es presentar una propuesta para ampliar las interpretaciones sobre la masculinización del sujeto indígena, esto al realizar un abordaje relacional entre género y etnia, categorías primarias en la construcción social y subjetiva de las masculinidades. Método: Se elabora un ejercicio hermenéutico desde el enfoque de género, para ahondar en el acto interpretativo sobre la comprensión de las masculinidades indígenas como una construcción social, histórica y compleja. Se hace énfasis en la historicidad para tener una aproximación situada que permita explicar que la construcción genérica del sujeto tiene reminiscencia de la historia que se manifiesta en el presente. Resultados: Se destaca que el estudio de las masculinidades indígenas requiere de un diálogo con otras propuestas teóricas para ampliar su comprensión. Dentro de estas se encuentran, por ejemplo, el feminismo decolonial o la interseccionalidad, para tener una aproximación situada del fenómeno de la masculinidad.
