dc.descriptionThis narrative tries to tell the story of Herradura, a farm in the Central Pacific belonging to the canton of Garabito, province of Puntarenas. The farmhouse was founded at the beginning of the 20th century with a small group of brave neighbors who, living away from the comforts, decided to join forces to carry out projects for common benefit, so that what has always been Herradura, which together with Jacó are an important tourist point of the country. The story is told by founders and others with a lot of time to live in the place, in the same narrates the distribution of the first families of the place, their homes and their entertainment centers, the religious services, the importance that was given to primary education, as well as struggles for the first infrastructure works, namely; the waterfront, the aqueduct, the school, the soccer field, among others. The work highlights the relations that the town maintained with the neighboring villages, as well as the positive effects that were given to each other as each one developed. It can not be missing to mention people who, although they did not live in Herradura for a long time, contributed significantly to the town, as well as some anecdotes that remained in thecollective memory.en-US
dc.descriptionEsta narración trata de contar la historia de Herradura, un caserío del Pacífico Central perteneciente al cantón de Garabito, provincia de Puntarenas. El caserío se fundó a principios del siglo XX con un pequeño grupo de valientes vecinos que al vivir lejos de las comodidades decidieron unir esfuerzos para concretar proyectos en beneficio común, de manera que se consolidará lo que siempre ha sido Herradura, que junto a Jacó son un importante punto turístico del país. La historia es contada por personas fundadoras y otras con mucho tiempo de habitar en el lugar, en la misma narra la distribución de las primeras familias del lugar, sus viviendas y sus centros de entretenimiento, los oficios religiosos, la importancia que se le dio a la educación primaria, así como las luchas por las primeras obras de infraestructuras, a saber; la costanera, el acueducto, la escuela, la cancha de fútbol, entre otras. En la obra se destaca las relaciones que el pueblo mantuvo con los caseríos vecinos, así como los efectos positivos que se daban entre ellos conforme cada uno se desarrollaba. No puede faltar el mencionar a personas que si bien no vivieron en Herradura por mucho tiempo aportaron de manera significativa al pueblo, así como algunas anécdotas que permanecieron en lamemoria colectiva.es-ES
