| dc.description | El cuidado dental en pacientes cardiópatas regularmente ha sido llevado a segundo termino. Algunos autores han reportado un numero significativamente alto de caries en enfermedades cardiacas cianóticas que en niños saludables. El objetivo de este estudio fue determinar el índice de caries dental en pacientes pediátricos con cardiopatía que acuden al servicio de estomatología del Instituto Nacional de Pediatría Se revisaron 158 expedientes de pacientes pediátricos con cardiopatía del INP, 83 hombres y 75 mujeres en los cuales se encontró una media en la edad de 7.2 años En dentición priMaría se encontró un ceo de 8.2 y en dentición permanente se encontró un índice CPO de 8.9 siendo este el índice mas alto encontrado en los 3 tipos de dentición, el grupo en donde se encontró el índice de caries más bajo fue en los pacientes que presentaban dentición mixta con un ceo de 4.6 y un CPO de 2.3. | |

Sorne authors have reported a significative high number of caries incidence in cyanotic cardiac disease than in healthy children. The purpose of this study was to determine the caries incidence in children with cardiac disease at the service of pediatric dentistry in the nacional institute of pediatrics. 158 INP patient's files were reviewed all patientes have congenital heart disease 83 male and 75 female the average age was 7.2 years old. In primary dentition, it was found a dmf of 8.2 and in permanent dentition it was found an DMF index of 8.9, being the highest index found in the three dentition type, the group whit the lowest caries index was found in the patients with mixed dentition with a dmf of 4.6 and a DMF of 2.3" | |
