dc.descriptionEn este artículo nos proponemos realizar una revisión de la noción de esfera pública en la teoría de Jürgen Habermas. Nos interesa, por un lado, dar cuenta del vínculo entre su modelo de democracia deliberativa y su noción de esfera pública; pero también, y fundamentalmente, interrogarnos acerca de la perdurabilidad y la utilidad de dicha noción ante el nuevo contexto de mediatización y esfera pública ampliada surgido a partir de la aparición de los nuevos dispositivos digitales y plataformas virtuales que permiten establecer innovadoras formas de intercambio no situado. A partir de la revisión de los aportes de distintos autores, buscaremos dar respuesta a la pregunta acerca de la perdurabilidad y las posibilidades de aplicación de los principales postulados habermasianos sobre la esfera pública, entendiendo a modo de hipótesis que gran parte de estos, ligados al requisito espacial-dialógico, han quedado obsoletos frente a una coyuntura mediatizada donde muchas de las interacciones y participaciones en lo público se desarrollan en Internet o, más precisamente, a través de las redes virtuales. Se postula, en tal sentido, que dicha línea teórica debe ser reformulada y actualizada para poder adecuarse a una coyuntura que la ha sobrepasado.
dc.descriptionIn this article we propose to make a revision of the notion of public sphere in Jürgen Habermas theory. Fundamentally we are interested in giving an account, on the one hand, of the link between its model of deliberative democracy and its notion of the public sphere; but above all we are interested in questioning about the durability and usefulness of this notion in the new context of mediatization and expanded public sphere emerged from the emergence of new digital devices and virtual platforms that allow establishing innovative forms of exchange not located. With the review of the contributions of other authors, we will seek to answer the question about the durability and the possibilities of application of the main habermasian postulates about the public sphere, arguing that a large part of these have become obsolete in the face of the new mediatized conjuncture due to its link to the space-dialogical requirement in times where a large part of the interactions and participation in the public is given through the internet and, more precisely, through virtual networks. Therefore, we conclude that this theoretical line must be reformulated and updated to adapt to a situation that has surpassed it.
