| dc.description | Se describe la implementación de un taller de geometría destinado a ingresantes de la Facultad de Ingeniería de la Universidad Nacional de La Plata en Argentina. Se utilizó el software Maple, para facilitar la comprensión de conceptos básicos de geometría a través de la visualización gráfica. El taller complementó el Curso de Nivelación en temas básicos de matemáticas que posee la Facultad de Ingeniería para uniformar conceptos a estudiantes que provienen de distintos colegios de la Escuela Media. En este trabajo se presentan objetivos, características del taller, metodología de trabajo como así también algunos ejemplos del material didáctico. Se realizaron encuestas a los alumnos y entrevistas a los docentes, mostrando que el taller resultó de utilidad pues contribuyó a la visualización gráfica favoreciendo la comprensión de la resolución de sistemas de ecuaciones. Basado en los resultados se concluye que la experiencia resultó valiosa para los alumnos, apta para ser mejorada y aplicable a otros ámbitos académicos. | |
| dc.description | The implementation of a geometry workshop for freshman students of the College of Engineering of the University of La Plata in Argentina, is described. The software Maple was employed to facilitate the understanding of basic geometry concepts through graphical visualization. The workshop was a complement of the Leveling Course on basic topics of Mathematics that the College of Engineering offers the students coming from different Secondary Schools. In the paper presents the objectives, the characteristics and the methodology used, as well as some examples of the didactic material. A survey among students and teachers was conducted and the results show that the workshop was highly positive since it contributed to enhance the comprehension of the solving of a system of equations. Based on the results, it is concluded that the experience was valuable for students, can be improved and adapted to be used in other academic areas. | |
