| dc.description | La teoría de los hacedores de verdad, como la vieja teoría correspondentista, intenta comprender la relación que, ligando proposiciones y hechos, resulta en la verdad (o falsedad) de las primeras. Esta teoría presenta una versión débil, que da cuenta de dicha relación en términos de la noción de implicación, y una fuerte, fundada en la relación de “ser verdadero en virtud de”.
La diferencia fundamental entre ambas es la adhesión y el rechazo, respectivamente, del Principio de Implicación, según el cual dos proposiciones ligadas por implicación serán hechas verdaderas por el mismo hecho. El presente trabajo muestra cómo esta adhesión conduce a las versiones débiles al colapso, por lo cual sólo las versiones fuertes tienen oportunidades de prosperar. | |
| dc.description | The truthmaker theory, as the old correspondence theory, tries to understand the relation binding facts and propositions which results in the truth or falsity of these lasts. There are two main versions of this theory: a weak one, explaining this relation by means of the concept of implication, and a strong one, based on the relation of “being true in virtue of”. The main difference between them is the acceptance and rejection, respectively, of the Entailment Principle, according to which two propositions linked by entailment will be made true by the same fact. The present work shows how this acceptance leads the weak version to collapsing, which means that only the strong version has a chance to succeed. | |
