dc.descriptionSecond Chance Schools (S2C) are a successful educational response for young people who have little education and are at risk of ending up in social exclusion. This article is the result of a research carried out in Spain and Portugal, which aims to find out about the different training proposals offered in both countries. A qualitative methodology is used, the main instrument being interviews with the heads of around thirty E2Os. The results show that the Spanish model is more focused on training in professional skills than the Portuguese model, which is more oriented towards socio-educational skills.en-US
dc.descriptionLas Escuelas de Segunda Oportunidad (E2O) constituyen una respuesta educativa exitosa para los jóvenes que  poseen una escasa formación y están en riesgo de acabar en exclusión social. Este artículo es fruto de una investigación realizada en España y Portugal, y que pretende averiguar las distintas propuestas formativas que se ofrecen en ambos países. Se emplea una metodología cualitativa que tiene como principal instrumento las entrevistas realizadas a responsables de una treintena de E2O. Los resultados muestran que el modelo español está más enfocado hacia la formación en competencias profesionales que el modelo portugués, más dirigido hacia las competencias socioeducativas.es-ES
