| dc.description | determinar las características del estrabismo en pacientes que asistieron al servicio de oftalmología del Hospital Dr. Domingo Luciani en el periodo enero 2017 a septiembre de 2021. Métodos: se realizó un estudio observacional, descriptivo y retrospectivo, cuya población está representada por 202 historias clínicas de pacientes con estrabismo que asistieron entre enero del año 2017 hasta septiembre de 2021, de las cuales se obtuvo las variables a estudiar, se vació la información en una hoja de Microsoft Excel 2019 y luego se realizó el tratamiento estadístico donde se hizo los cálculos en valor absoluto, porcentaje, T Student para la obtención de los resultados. Resultados: se determinó que el tipo de estrabismo más frecuente fue las endotropias con un 59,4 %, la ametropía más frecuente en pacientes con estrabismo fue el 42,1 % astigmatismo compuesto; seguido de 26,2 % de hipermetropía simple. No se encontró distinción entre sexo. El 81,2 % de la procedencia de los pacientes fue del estado Miranda; mientras que al 79, 7 % de los pacientes se le indicó corrección óptica, solo el 26,2 % de estos fueron intervenidos quirúrgicamente. Como hallazgo del estudio se encontró que el año de mayor número de pacientes con estrabismo en el servicio de oftalmología del hospital Dr. Domingo Luciani fue el 2017 con un 31,7 % Conclusiones: los resultados en un hospital de referencia coinciden con las características de la literatura internacional, se hace importante el mantenimiento del reporte de datos para lograr una estadística a largo plazo del estrabismo en el país. | |
