dc.descriptionThe object of this article is an attempt to analyze the relation between women, memory and war in Mercè Rodoreda's novel, La Plaza del Diamante. In this article I elucidate specific aspects of the novel related to the dynamics of memory and History-specifically the Feminist History-and the context of the Spanish Civil War in which the novel is narrated. In the pages that follow, I reflect upon the ways in which the Feminist History has been constructed-from the legitimating of women as subjects worthy of history only as active subjects and interventionists in the public and social space-and how the same Feminist History has understood the past: a comprehension of the past that tends to obliterate memory. In this article I elucidate which are the notions of time and memory in which the protagonist of La Plaza del Diamante, Natalia, is immersed during the Spanish Civil War-notions of time and memory that are strictly related with the things that dwell in her space-in comparison with those that have been validated by the Feminist History.en-US
dc.descriptionEste artículo intenta enlazar la relación entre mujer, memoria y guerra en la novela de Mercè Rodoreda, La Plaza del Diamante. En el mismo se dilucidan ciertos aspectos de la novela relativos a la dinámica de la memoria, la Historia -específicamente la Historia feminista- y el contexto de la Guerra Civil española en el que se desarrolla la novela. En las páginas que siguen, reflexiono sobre las formas en que se ha construido una Historia feminista -a partir de la validación de las mujeres como sujetos dignos de historia únicamente en cuanto sujetos activos e interventores en el espacio público y social- y como la misma Historia feminista ha entendido el pasado: una comprensión del pasado que tiende a obliterar la memoria. En el artículo dilucido cuáles son las nociones de tiempo y de memoria en las que se encuentra inmersa la protagonista de La Plaza del Diamante, Natalia, durante la Guerra Civil -nociones de tiempo y memoria que están íntimamente relacionadas con los objetos que habitan el espacio de Natalia- frente a aquellas que ha validado la Historia feminista.es-ES
