dc.descriptionResearch that concentrates interesting statistical data for Peruvian historiography. The origin of tithes is found in the Bull of Concepción issued by Alexander VI in 1501, by which all tithes and first fruits of the Indies are granted to the Catholic Monarchs. In his administration the State and the Church intervened. These payments met with strong resistance from the Indians and the Jesuits, each at the extreme end of the colonial social scale.en-US

El origen de los diezmos se encuentra en la Bula de Concepción expedida por Alejandro VI en 1501, por la cual se otorga a los Reyes Católicos todos los diezmos y primicias de las Indias. En su administración intervenían el Estado y la Iglesia. Estos pagos encontraron fuerte resistencia en los indios y en los jesuítas, cada cual en el extremo de la escala social del coloniaje. (R.
