| dc.description | The discovery and paleographic decipherment of Peruvian Arithmetic (1693) by Anne Marie Davée is the first testimony of the exact sciences in Colonial Peru. The author of this work was Brother Diego de Morillas who wrote it in Lima after long years of study and compilation. Drawing on the sources found, but above all on his own practice and experience, Morillas includes very diverse topics. Some deal with simple and general issues such as quantities, bankruptcy amounts, value of currencies, etc ... Other paragraphs, on the other hand, had to do with specific sectors such as: accounting methods and techniques, precious metals negotiations, their rules for measuring land, the business organization of the colony, etc. This important for Peruvian historiography, is organized, by the author himself, under the name of rules, this first volume covers from rule No. 1 to No. 56. | en-US |
| dc.description | El descubrimiento y desciframiento paleográfico de la Aritmetica Peruana (1693) por Anne Marie Davée es el primer testimonio de las ciencias exactas en el Perú Colonial. El autor de esta obra fue el Hermano Diego de Morillas quien la escribió en Lima después de largos años de estudio y compilación. Basándose de las fuentes encontradas, pero sobretodo de su propia p´ráctica y experiencia, Morillas incluye temas muy diversos. Algunos tratan cuestiones simples y generales como cantidades, sumas de quebrados, valor de monedas, etc... Otros párrafos en cambio, tenían que ver con sectores específicos como: métodos y técnicas de la contabilidad, negociaciones de metales preciosos, sus reglas para medir tierras, la organización empresarial de la colonia, etc. Esta importante para la historiografía peruana, esta organizada, por el propio autor, bajo el nombre de reglas, este primer volumen abarca desde la regla N°1 hasta la N° 56. | es-ES |
