| dc.description | This work analyzes the role of the brotherhoods and their functions through the historical process of Colonial Peru, especially among the indigenous population. For this reason, the author reviews the documents in the archives of the Archdiocese, the Society of Public Charity of Lima and the General Archive of the Nation. The analysis of the data obtained in manuscripts of Books of Constitutions, Margesíes and 36 files of which the documentation of the Cofradías Court consists, allows us to understand the work carried out by these colonial religious associations, whose hierarchical structure and administration of common funds was under the control of the Church through the collection of alms, imposition of censuses or chaplaincies. Likewise, in rural areas they fulfilled the task of being agents of integration and social adaptation. | en-US |
| dc.description | El presente trabajo analiza el papel de las cofradías y sus funciones a través del proceso histórico del Perú Colonial, especialmente entre la población indígena. Con tal motivo, la autora revisa los documentos de los archivos del Arzobispado, de la Sociedad de Beneficencia Pública de Lima y del Archivo General de la Nación. El análisis de los datos obtenidos en manuscritos de Libros de Constituciones, Margesíes y de 36 legajos de los que consta la documentación del Juzgado de Cofradías, permite comprender la labor cumplida por estas asociaciones religiosas coloniales, cuya estructura jerárquica y administración de fondos comunes estuvo bajo el control de la Iglesia a través del cobro de limosnas, imposición de censos o capellanías. Asimismo, en el ámbito rural cumplieron con la labor de ser agentes de integración y adaptación social. | es-ES |
