| dc.description | Between 1917 and 1918, the artist Teófilo Castillo undertook a trip through the Peruvian southern Andes and the republics of Bolivia, Chile and Argentina. From this crossing, he published a series of twenty-six essays in the magazine Variedades, which he called «On the road. From Rimac to Silver ». This set of writings constitutes the first sample of art criticism made by a Peruvian about South American, European and Asian artists; because in these texts Castillo manages to institutionalize art criticism through his own artistic and extra-artistic guidelines, formulating an original aesthetic judgment and away from the impressionist. In this investigation, Castillo's comments on the artists and the works he could appreciate are reviewed. Likewise, the importance of travel in the formation of its artistic criteria is analyzed. | en-US |
| dc.description | Entre 1917 y 1918, el artista Teófilo Castillo emprendió un viaje por el sur andino peruano y las repúblicas de Bolivia, Chile y Argentina. A partir de dicha travesía, publicó una serie de veintiséis ensayos en la revista Variedades, a la cual denominó «En viaje. Del Rímac al Plata». Este conjunto de escritos constituye la primera muestra de crítica de arte realizada por un peruano sobre artistas sudamericanos, europeos y asiáticos; pues en dichos textos Castillo logra institucionalizar la crítica de arte mediante sus propios lineamientos artísticos y extraartísticos, formulando un juicio estético original y alejado de lo impresionista. En esta investigación, se revisan los comentarios de Castillo sobre los artistas y las obras que pudo apreciar. Asimismo, se analiza la importancia de los viajes en la formación de su criterio artístico. | es-ES |
