| dc.description | We have read with interest the recent case report entitled: “Asymptomatic intraventricular arachnoid cyst: a case report”, by Franco LJ et al and based on our experience in the management of arachnoid cysts we would like to make some comments. Firstly, we agree with the authors that intraventricular localization of arachnoid cysts (AC) is very rare, especially when we analyze cases of adult patients, and this low incidence is due to the fact that under normal conditions there is no arachnoid membrane inside the ventricular system. . In these cases it is thought that its origin is from the ependymal layer of the choroidal tissue that covers the vascular mesenchyme, which projects into the lateral ventricle through the choroidal fissure. | en-US |
| dc.description | Hemos leído con interés el reciente reporte de caso titulado: “Quiste aracnoideo intraventricular asintomático: reporte de un caso”, de Franco LJ et al y en base a nuestra experiencia en el manejo de los quistes aracnoideos nos gustaría hacer algunos comentarios. En primer lugar, coincidimos con los autores que la localización intraventricular de los quistes aracnoideos (QA) es muy poco frecuente sobre todo cuando analizamos casuísticas de pacientes adultos y esta poca incidencia se debe a que en condiciones normales no hay membrana aracnoidea dentro del sistema ventricular. En estos casos se piensa que su origen es a partir de la capa ependimaria de la tela coroidea que cubre el mesénquima vascular, el cual se proyecta en el ventrículo lateral a través de la fisura coroidea. | es-ES |
