| dc.description | O presente estudo propõe identificar e analisar as transformações espaciais que vêm se processando por conta da ação dos agricultores familiares sócios da Associação dos Agricultores Ecológicos das Encostas da Serra Geral # Agreco a partir da adoção de técnicas de produção agroecológicas. A agroecologia sintetiza a relação com a natureza, através do cultivo da terra, que a humanidade vem construindo ao longo da história. Essa mesma história pode ser considerada como a história da construção, reconstrução, transformação e ampliação do espaço pelo homem. A cada novo instrumento técnico incorporado ao processo de cultivo da terra ocorrem novas transformações espaciais. Na primeira fase da história, conhecida como agricultura tradicional, que tem seu auge na primeira revolução agrícola, as transformações ocorridas na agricultura exerciam forte influência sobre os demais setores da sociedade. A segunda fase, que inicia a partir da segunda revolução agrícola, a situação se inverte, ou seja, as transformações promovidas pelo setor industrial passam a influenciar diretamente o setor agrícola com a introdução da química e da motomecanização. Essa fase marca o início da agricultura moderna. Os avanços tecnológicos nos setores de comunicação, informação e circulação de mercadorias vêm transferindo a estes o papel condutor das novas transformações. Tais avanços têm gerado um público consumidor exigente em diversidade e qualidade de produtos, principalmente os de origem da agropecuária. A exigência por maior qualidade tem fomentado a expansão da agricultura alternativa, que desde a década de 20 do século
passado, vem se contraponto ao modelo convencional preconizado pela revolução verde. Na Região de ação da Agreco, a agricultura tem sido a principal responsável pelas grandes transformações espaciais ocorridas. A primeira está ligada ao processo de colonização e o conseqüente extermínio dos povos indígenas que ali viviam. Duas outras transformações significativas ocorrem: primeiro com a crise do porco #macau#, principal produto da agricultura tradicional; a segunda ocorre com a introdução da fumicultura e com a #modernização parcial# da Região. Entretanto, as mais profundas transformações espaciais da Região ocorrem com base nos princípios agroecológicos a partir da ação dos agricultores familiares através da Agreco.
The present study intends to analyse the space transformations which have been developed in the mountains and hills region from Santa Catarina - erra Catarinense and the Encostas region because of the family farmers action who are AGRECO#s partners by the use of agro-ecological production techniques. Agroecology synthesizes the nature relation through land cultivation that humankind has constructed along History. The same History might be considered as the History of construction, reconstruction, transformation as well as the space being enlarged by man. Some space transformations happen whenever a new technical instrument embodied to the land cultivation process. In the first phase of the History known as traditional agriculture that goes up to the first agricultural revolution, the transformations occurred in agriculture had strong influence on the other society sectors. The second phase which starts from the second agricultural revolution the situation reverses, it means that the transformations, specially the ones promoted by the industrial sector began to influence directly on the agricultural sector through the motor-mechanization and chemistry introduction. Such phase sets the modern agriculture. The technological advances in the communication, information as well as products circulation sectors transfer to them the conductor role of the new transformations. Such advances have generated a demanding consumer related to diversity and quality products, specially those of both agricultural and cattle-raising origin. Such demand on a better quality has brought the alternative agriculture expansion which since the 20s in the last century opposed to the conventional model preconized by the green revolution. In the AGRECO#s action region the agriculture has been the main responsible by the greatest space transformations. The first one is related to the colonization process and the consequent extermination of the Indian people who lived there. Two other meaningful transformations take place: first with the #macau# pig crisis, main product of the traditional agriculture. The second one is regarding to the fume culture and the #partial modernization# of the region. However the deepest space transformations in that region take place based on the agro-ecological principles of family farmers through AGRECO. | |
