| dc.description | El rama es una lengua en serio peligro; en el sudeste de Nicaragua hay unos treinta hablantes tradicionales, el mismo número de semihablantes y algunos neohablantes. En esta lengua, el fonema velar nasal /ŋ/ está pasando por una evolución marcada por la obsolescencia; suele aparecer en todas las posiciones, pero en la actualidad se limita a la posición de final de palabra en la variedad obsolescente de la lengua, mientras que en los demás contextos, inicio y mitad de palabra, es generalmente elidido o reemplazado por otro. La causa tiene que ver con la situación sociolingüística del rama. Rama is a “severely endangered” language, spoken by about 30 fluent speakers, the same number of semi-speakers, and some neo-speakers, on the south-east coast of Nicaragua. In this language, the phoneme /ŋ/ is undergoing an obsolescent-marked evolution; this phoneme normally appears in all positions, but now only in word final position in the obsolescent variant of the language, whereas, in the other contexts, the velar nasal is generally elided or replaced by another sound. This is likely due to the sociolinguistic situation of Rama. | es-ES |
