Resumo: Este artigo tem por objetivo analisar a evolução do financiamento da educação noMunicípio de Nova Iguaçu. Parte-se da premissa de que os planos municipais de educação buscam dar cumprimento ao que preconiza a Constituição Federal e às metas estabelecidas no Plano Nacional de Educação. Razão pela qual, o artigo foi estruturado em três seções. A primeira tem por objetivo contextualizar a Educação como direito fundamental de assento constitucional. A segunda analisa o Plano Nacional de Educação (PNE) como medida que define os parâmetros gerais que devem ser adotados pelos planos municipais de educação, principalmente, sobre os recursos financeiros que são utilizados para as suas implementações. A terceira consiste no cerne desta pesquisa, já que analisa, de modo detalhado, o Plano Municipal de Educação da Cidade de Nova Iguaçu, nos exercícios financeiros de 2015, 2016 e 2017. O objetivo é demonstrar quantitativamente os valores que foram utilizados pelo município e as áreas da educação em que foram alocados.

Abstract: This article aims to analyze the evolution of education financing in the city of Nova Iguaçu. It starts from the premise that the municipal education plans seek to comply with what the Federal Constitution advocates and the goals established in the National Education Plan. That is why, the article was structured in three sections. The first aims to contextualizeEducation as a fundamental right of constitutional accent. The second analyzes the National Education Plan (PNE) as a measure that defines the general parameters that should be adopted by the municipal education plans, mainly on the financial resources that are used for their implementations. The third is at the heart of this research, as it analyzes, in detail, the Municipal Education Plan of the City of Nova Iguaçu in the financial years of 2015, 2016 and 2017. The objective is to demonstrate quantitatively the values that were used by the municipality and the areas of education in which they were allocated.
