dc.description.abstractThis article aims at analyzing the perception of eight-year-olds about full-time education. The children who participated in this study were in the 3rd year of the 1st cycle of UFMG’s Pedagogical Center. The way they deal with their school routine, the time they spend on this environment, their opinion about the presence of the monitors in the classroom, the food they eat at school and the time they spend with their family (reporting whether or not they are present in their school experience) are the aspects analyzed in this research. The study was conducted by interviews with students in groups of 10 children each. These interviews were audio-recorded and performed at two different moments with each group. The results lead us to conclude that most of these children accept the idea of full-time education, however, they emphasize the need to review some criteria that are part of what full-time education is.
