This thesis analises the relations, approximations and distanciations between Anthropophagy - a movement led by Oswald de Andrade - and Freudian psychoanalysis taking as a starting point what Andrade formulated as "strategic relations" which it had to establish with the viennese discipline. Understanding this strategy as an anthropophagic movement itself in research and object relations, we seek to investigate in what ways, surrounding the construction of the Anthropophagic Weltanschauung and his matriarchal utopia, Oswald de Andrade used Freudian psychoanalysis to identify possibles solutions for the malaise of your time. From the Oswaldian writings most related to Anthropophagy - mainly the Anthropophagic Manifesto, along with other texts published in the Revista de Antropofagia, and also its late essays, such as Crisis of Messianic Philosophy, The Anthropophagus and The March of Utopias - and having as hexis propositions contained in the Manifesto as a line that weaves the entire thesis, it examines how (from, with and against Freud) Oswald built an anthropophagic utopia towards the matriarchy of Pindorama, combating authoritarianism and colonial mentality, using what he called “Catechist males” registered by Freud. It was also from Freud that he understood sexuality in the etiology of neurosis and repression as a producer of symptoms. However, as we could demonstrate, it was through reformatting/anthropophagizing Freud that Oswald proposed or established one of the formulas of the Manifest, “the transformation of the taboo into totem”. And it was against Freud that he denounced or universalized Oedipus in his project to decolonize thought and de-patriarchize the world. We also seek to demonstrate both Anthropophagy and psychoanalysis interpreted the discomfort of its time. These intersections reveal the intertwining between these two fields that demonstrate, in a time of crises and catastrophes, the actuality and reenactment of this encounter between anthropofagy and psychoanalysis.
