dc.description.abstractThe present essay takes a reflective look at the strategic character of indirect influence practices, aiming to broaden the understanding of organizations' role in contemporary meaning disputes. The text aims to a theoretical articulation between dynamical and relational views of influence, strategy, and the processes of public formation and movement. We structured the text in three parts. First, we revisit the understanding of influence, demarcating trust, warrants of solidarity, and reputation as some of the central elements of an inter-influence system. In the second, we develop the notion of indirect influence in greater depth, especially from its articulation with strategic aspects. Finally, the contours of some of the indirect influence strategies employed by organizations are explored, revealing possibilities and challenges for studying such practices.
