dc.description.abstractIn this work we present a case study on the phosphoethanolamine substance, under the perspective of the sciences teaching for investigation (STI). The sciences teaching for investigation is a methodology that aims at the approximation of the science developed by the scientists with the school sciences, while the centralized of the study in classroom is moved of the teacher for the pupil, in whom, the first one was measuring the second in the search for the construction of the knowledges. Such a study was developed in five classrooms with two groups of 3 ° Year of a State Public school of the Engenheiro Navarro-MG city. Did the inquiry take as a base the resolution of the problem “What it is the stages to which must a substance be subjected so that it can be released for use?” and it understood the lifting of prior knowledges of the groups, inquiries on several subjects as to the subject, realization of discussions and discussions, and the communication of the results. The substance was chosen, caused by the controversial egg white created in the beginning of this year. Gilberto Orivaldo Chierice, teacher and retired investigator of the University of São Paulo developed several studies with the substance, distributing capsules to patients diagnosed with cancer. Some patients reported expressive improvements after the use of these capsules. For lack of studies that prove the efficiency, the ANVISA prohibited his distribution. The allegation was that the substance had not been systematically tested and that his efficiency in the treatment of the cancer was still not proved. Through the case study ANVISA we realize a satisfactory approximation of the answers presented by the groups with the defined ones for, the most effective participation in the classrooms as well as the application of the knowledges built through the study in chemistry classroom by building the molecule.
