This article is part of an investigation about remarried families. the main purpose was to discuss the blended siblinghood theme. The methodology used was based on a bibliographical survey and semi-structured interviews with stepparents. The results obtained on this theme were organized into three categories: the burden of having or not having children in their current relationship; the effects of childbearing half-siblings; and the difference or equality in the relationship between children and stepchildren. The birth of a child in their current relationship can impact the stepparent’s position in the family structure, creating a permanent bond with their stepchildren. The emphasis given by interviewees about not differentiating care from their children and stepchildren might hide the particular needs present in the family structure.
