| dc.description.abstract | In this research we sought to inquire about the use and applications that would have to implement the BIG DATA IN CHEMICAL ENGINEERING in the Colombian industry, this research is documentary type, in which information was collected from various sources, which was subsequently analyzed, This research is of a documentary type, in which information was collected from various sources, which was subsequently analyzed, classified and arranged in a concise and coherent order to be able to raise the issue and Big Data, therefore, this article studied the possibilities of managing the implementation based on Big Data technology (Big Data) with the aim of improving the processes carried out in Colombian industries. Although Colombia is the country with the greatest impact of Big Data in Latin America, no studies have been able to confirm that this technology has been applied in the chemical industry and for other purposes, although in other countries such as Canada this tool is already being implemented in many fields of engineering, such as chemical engineering, where promising advances have already been presented in relation to this topic. It should be noted that the application of Big Data is very important today, it is a substantial help for various branches of engineering, in our field as chemical engineers is vital in identifying problems that may occur in various types of processes, we could predict under certain conditions when it is about to trigger an adverse situation and correct it before it happens. In relation to the Big Data study conducted, there is a very clear advantage of what would be to include this technology in the Colombian chemical industry, it would improve the performance of processes, they would be optimal at the energy, economic and environmental level, since we are facing one of the most booming tools in this digital era, we have to assume an investment in this technology that would eventually bring savings because it is about optimizing, streamlining and being friendly to the environment. The implementation of this technology can answer many questions for which in the past there were only ambiguous answers at best; it remains for companies to take on the challenge of investing in massive data to discover a new era of predictive models based on data analysis. | |
