dc.description.abstractUniversidad inteligente o Smart University, es un concepto fuertemente anclado a las tecnologías inteligentes, se centra en la mejora de su infraestructura tecnológica para lograr objetivos educativos de calidad. Las organizaciones, incluidas las universidades, necesitan adoptar las tecnologías inteligentes para aprovechar las capacidades que proporcionan para transformar sus procesos e impulsarlas hacia nuevos modelos organizativos. Un enfoque evolutivo para que una universidad actual progrese por niveles hacia una Smart University es propicio para un modelo de madurez. La gestión de la tecnología en las universidades repercute en la calidad de sus procesos académicos y administrativos. La revisión de la literatura permitió detectar un vacío de conocimiento porque esta perspectiva ha sido muy poco investigada y prevalecen las contribuciones descriptivas. Aunque los modelos de madurez son numerosos y ampliamente aplicables, existe poca documentación sobre cómo desarrollarlos. Hasta ahora, los académicos no suelen proporcionar directrices detalladas ni herramientas útiles para apoyar la adopción práctica de los modelos desarrollados en las universidades. Para contribuir a llenar este vacío, el objetivo de esta tesis fue diseñar un modelo de madurez bajo la hipótesis de que sería factible y una herramienta útil en la evolución del concepto de Smart University, en la adopción y gestión de tecnologías inteligentes y en el mejoramiento continuo. Esta tesis presenta la integración de los factores e indicadores clave para la adopción de cuatro tecnologías inteligentes: Computación en la nube, Big Data, Inteligencia Artificial, e Internet de las Cosas; plasmados en el diseño de un modelo de madurez, evaluado y aplicado en un caso de estudio en la Universidad Francisco de Paula Santander Ocaña. Se encontró que el modelo es útil, pertinente y aplicable para valorar el enfoque evolutivo de una universidad actual progrese hacia una Smart University. Se concluye sobre la necesidad de alineación de las tecnologías inteligentes con los procesos de la organización, exigiendo una mayor interacción con la alta dirección. Además de esta tesis, se obtuvieron 32 productos académicos. Se derivan un conjunto de recomendaciones para la investigación futura en un concepto en constante evolución.
