dc.description.abstractThe characteristics of warping, lead to become one of the phenomena with greater effects on hydraulic concrete slabs, used in road constructions in urban areas, because it produces a premature and progressive deteriorations in these structures when they are exposed to high pressures such as those observed in the traffic service. Therefore, for the field of engineering it is important to identify, define, implement and evaluate processes that reduce the negative impact on these structures due to the action of temperature in situ, in that sense, it is essential to know the thermal gradient of each place where the construction of roads with rigid pavement is projected, This with the purpose of generating the appropriate conditions for greater durability and comfort of the materials used, taking into account the reflections that can occur on this type of hydraulic concrete slabs. In this order of ideas, the fulfillment of the objectives set for the research, was carried out through the use of the alternative method of calculating temperature correlation LDUST21, in addition to the use of the free finite element software ISLAB2000, created by the University of Illinois for the analysis of these processes. However, the application of these methods of study on the behavior of the rigid pavement slabs of a road in the city of Bogotá, allowed to know the behavior of the effort generated by the temperature of these surfaces. The results led to understand how the maximum transverse and longitudinal stresses and maximum deformation on the slabs, present physical changes during the days in which there is a greater luminosity. On the other hand, the study also contributed to recognize means that helped minimize the effects of the phenomenon of day and night warping, either by modifying the thickness of the slab or the rigidity of the supporting floor.
