Dignity is an axiological criterion and principle. It is a concept whose semantic referent must be carefully considered because it is a swampy notion to which the utmost attention must be paid. The meaning responds to criteria of dignity in subjective, plural and institutional relationships. It is a notion combined with recognition. Human dignity encompasses the dignity of the cancer patient, based on the modifications of the disease and, therefore, on the considerations of quality of life and healthy habits for the reconstruction of equality and social and institutional symmetry. This research article aimed at conceptualizing the dignity of the oncology patient in the Social State of Law regarding the quality of life and healthy habits in breast cancer survivors in Colombia between 2017-2020. For this purpose, an integrative documentary review was conducted, in which Google Scholar and databases such as PubMed, SAGE Journal, Medline and Springer link were used. Eighty studies were found in phase I with the application of inclusion criteria. In phase II, 63 studies were registered and systematized. Gadamer's hermeneutic method and the Hegelian synthetic method were used for the analysis. It is concluded to rethink the cancer norms in the light of the dignity of the cancer patient.
