dc.description.abstract | El presente trabajo tuvo como objetivo determinar el efecto antibacteriano in vitro de los extractos etanólicos de hojas de Chenopodium ambrosioides L “Paico” y Schinus molle “Molle” frente a Staphylococcus aureus. El ensayo microbiológico realizado fue por el método de Kirby-Bauer con discos de difusión en Agar Mueller Hinton. Para este ensayo se usaron 10 repeticiones con discos etiquetados como A, extracto Chenopodium ambrosioides a 500 mg/mL; B, extracto Schinus molle a 500 mg/mL; C, mezcla de ambos extractos (1:1) a 500 mg/mL; D, Ciprofloxacino 5 µg y E, agua destilada. Los resultados en el tamizaje fitoquímico mostró que ambos extractos etanólicos presentan metabolitos como: flavonoides, compuestos fenólicos, y alcaloides. Conclusiones: Se demostró que el extracto etanólico de las hojas de Chenopodium ambrosioides L “Paico” al 50 % no presenta efecto antibacteriano; comparable con el extracto etanólico de las hojas de Schinus molle “Molle” y los extractos etanólicos de ambas especies botánicas al 50% que si presentaron el efecto antibacteriano in vitro frente a Staphylococcus aureus | |
dc.description.abstract | The objective of the present work was to determine the in vitro antibacterial effect of ethanolic extracts of Chenopodium ambrosioides L "Paico" and Schinus molle "Molle" leaves against Staphylococcus aureus. The microbiological assay performed was by the Kirby-Bauer method with diffusion discs in Mueller Hinton Agar. For this assay, 10 replicates were used with discs labeled A, Chenopodium ambrosioides extract at 500 mg/mL; B, Schinus molle extract at 500 mg/mL; C, mixture of both extracts (1:1) at 500 mg/mL; D, Ciprofloxacin 5 µg and E, distilled water. The results in phytochemical screening showed that both ethanolic extracts present metabolites such as: flavonoids, phenolic compounds, and alkaloids. Conclusions: It was demonstrated that the ethanolic extract of Chenopodium ambrosioides L "Paico" leaves at 50% does not present antibacterial effect; comparable with the ethanolic extract of Schinus molle "Molle" leaves and the ethanolic extracts of both botanical species at 50% that did present antibacterial effect in vitro against Staphylococcus aureus | |
