En el presente estudio monográfico se describe el estado actual de desarrollo de Síndrome de Fatiga Crónica (SFC). Esta nueva problemática aqueja a personas con niveles elevados de estrés y dentro de sus características personales se puede evidenciar que son muy exigentes y perfeccionistas. Esta revisión tiene como objetivo brindar alternativas conceptuales que faciliten el reconocimiento de esta problemática desde la perspectiva bio-psico-social. La etiología se presenta de acuerdo con las teorías biológicas, psicológicas y sociales. También se hace una discriminación de los síntomas más reconocidos. La intervención como eje central de este trabajo incluye la clasificación de los resultados de investigaciones, tanto de carácter tradicional, como de carácter alternativo, reconociendo la eficacia de los dos tipos de intervención.
