| dc.description | Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) are important sources of social and economic development in the Latin American region. This paper aims: (1) To study the state of the process of industrialization of cocoa, produced and marketed by PyMES located in the province of Los Ríos, Ecuador, (2) To test the effectiveness of some proposed strategies to overcome the deficiencies found in the process. To achieve these goals, statistical methods were applied to a group of ten SMEs in the region. It was concluded that there exist deficiencies in the process and that the proposed strategies are effective. | en-US |
| dc.description | Las Pequeñas y Medianas Empresas (PyMES) son una fuente importante de desarrollo social y económico en la región latinoamericana. Este artículo se propone dos objetivos: (1) Estudiar el estado del proceso de industrialización del cacao producido y comercializado por PyMES localizadas en la provincia de Los Ríos, Ecuador, (2) Probar la eficacia de las estrategias propuestas para superar las deficiencias que se encuentren en el proceso. Para lograr esto se aplicaron métodos estadísticos sobre un grupo de diez PyMES de la región. Se concluyó que existían deficiencias en el proceso y que las estrategias propuestas son efectivas. | es-ES |
