Urban mining is presented as a suitable process for the management of waste electrical and electronic equipment, but it is also an alternative to conventional mining, which is why it has been established as a strategy for the fulfillment of the Sustainable Development Goals. Generally, urban mining is approached from an economic and environmental perspective leaving aside the social component, that is why this research project proposes the analysis of the social dimension of e-waste urban mining in Ecuador. For this purpose, a set of social indicators is identified, starting from a literature review based on Fink's methodology, and primary information was collected through interviews, which were analyzed through thematic content analysis, obtaining as a result the experiences of urban mining of e-waste that Ecuador has had, from which the social aspects are identified, which finally allowed the identification of a set of indicators that reflect the social reality of urban mining of e-waste.
