The Parental Acceptance-Rejection Theory (PARTheory) is a evidence-based theory which tries to predict and explain the main causes, consequences and correlations of parental acceptance and rejection throughout the life cycle. This research was focused on the identification of different kinds of families with children affected by Down Syndrome (DS), describe the frequency of parental acceptance-rejection manifestations towards them and determine how do the characteristics of these children are related to such expressions.
