dc.description.abstractdequate and individualized diet and exercise causes different health benefits. The eating habits worn by the sportsman are of the utmost importance since food is a necessary source of energy to meet the energy demand produced. In combat sports, weight and body composition are important factors in classifying into a category, so in many cases athletes maintain their eating habits in disbalance, perform inadequate diets days before a competition. prolonged fasting and fluid restrictions to adjust your weight to the desired category. Objective To evaluate the relationship between eating habits and nutritional status of judo athletes, through anthropometric measures and consumption surveys to establish basic dietary patterns for athletes. Methods Descriptive study, with a target population of 20 Judocas of the Youth team in combat sports (Judo) of the Azuay Sports Federation of 12-18 years. Nutritional status and dietary habits were assessed through: Food surveys, and anthropometric data. Results The relationship between dietary habits and nutritional status in Jewish athletes was revealed. In which there was a relationship between the consumption of dairy products and sugars, while in other groups there was no significant relationship.
