dc.description.abstractBackground: at the level of Latin America, non-communicable chronic diseases such as: arterial hypertension and diabetes mellitus II are the main causes of mortality due to the fact that, annually, there are more than 17.9 million people who die; especially due to ineffective adherence to treatment, which is understood as: taking the medication according to the prescribed dose, following the dietary measures and physical activity given by the health personnel. Objectives: to determine the adherence to the treatment of chronic pathologies (hypertension, diabetes) in times of pandemic, in adults. Victoria del Portete Health Center, 2022. Methods: the Instrument was used to determine therapeutic adherence in people suffering from arterial hypertension and diabetes mellitus "Therapeutic conduct: illness or injury (1609)" and the survey prepared by the authors to obtain sociodemographic data. Results: of the studied sample (201 hypertensive and diabetic users) it is prolonged that 60.2% are older than 65 years, the female sex occupied 66.7%, the predominant marital status was married with 54.7%, the level primary education with 68.2%. On the other hand, the age that prevailed in hypertensive patients was over 65 years with 66.9% and with respect to gender, females with 66.9%. However, the outstanding age in diabetics was 45-64 years, accounting for 50%, and the female sex had the highest percentage with 66.1%. Regarding adherence to treatment, according to the instrument used, an average of 3.6 ± 0.6 will be prolonged, corresponding to frequently with 73%.
