dc.description.abstractThe objective of this study was to explore whether teacher training influences the quality of mediation to develop basic cognitive processes and skills in elementary school students. For this, the work assumed a quantitative, correlational-type methodology. The instruments applied are the "Questionnaire to evaluate the level of teacher training regarding mediation in the development of basic cognitive skills" and an "Observation sheet of the mediation that occurs in the classroom, regarding the development of basic cognitive skills in student”. 31 teachers participated. The correlation carried out made it possible to determine that in the institutions of the city of Cuenca investigated, the greater the academic training, the greater the use of reinforcement strategies.
