dc.description.abstractTrading comes from the necessity of the society to get products to cover those necessities, in this way they developed the barter, for the exchange of goods and with the pass of time they create and use the public space known as market places as a starting point for the cultural exchange and the commercialization of products, being a supply market with a majority presence of women. In the city of Cuenca, we can evidence a high rating of female participation in the markets around the city, perhaps, there is no studies about the age and social situation of the woman merchants, so, this investigation wants to announce the social conditions and vulnerabilityof older women merchants from 10 de Agosto market. For the data collection, it was used some ethnographic tools like observations and semi- structured interviews to 10 women merchants. Because of this, the investigation centers on answer the general problematics at the time of transportation, purchase, mobilization and commercialization of products. Thereby, with the interviews it was possible to verify the high commercial and opportunity imbalance because of their age and the type of sale that women merchants are hold.
