dc.description.abstractIntroduction: Throughout their career, nursing students face high educational demands that demand time and this leads to adopting unhealthy behaviors. Objective: To determine the quality of sleep and nutritional habits in rotating nursing interns, University of Cuenca, August 2022- February 2023. Methodology: A descriptive quantitative approach study. The universe was made up of 95 nursing interns from the University of Cuenca between 21 to 33 old. Participants were evaluated with a sociodemographic data sheet, for sleep quality the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) and for nutritional habits was applied the Food Consumption Frequency Questionnaire. The data analysis was executed in the programs: Excel, SPSS v25.0 and Word. Results: Of the total interns 47.4% belonged to the hospital area and 53.6% to the community area. In the questionnaire 90.5% has poor sleep quality. According to the food frequency questionnaire, the most consumed foods are high in protein 55.79%, alcoholic beverages 55.79%. The association between sociodemographic variables and frequent foods was significant between marital status and sugary drinks p=0017. Conclusion: There wasn’t association between sleep quality and nutritional habits in Nursing Interns, University of Cuenca, 2022-2023.
