The present work shows a thermographic analysis carried out in the Electric Microgrid Laboratory of the University of Cuenca. Based on the equipment found in the laboratory, a thermographic inspection is carried out on each one of them to know their current status. The procedure to follow, the material and the instruments necessary to carry out thermographic inspections in the equipment that make up the Laboratory are detailed. A guide on how to perform thermography is also presented, considering factors such as ambient temperature and relative humidity, in order to perform a correction of values using the analysis software compatible with the handheld thermographic camera, which the laboratory has. An extra tool that was used was a drone with a thermal camera, to generally analyze the operation of the photovoltaic generation plant that the Microgrid has. All thermograms obtained during the inspection process are also displayed along with recommendations for future thermographic inspections. With which the presence of failures and the need to carry out this type of maintenance are verified, seeking not only to guarantee the quality and continuity of the service, but also the reduction of accidents, and significant savings in corrective maintenance costs.
