Scientific research shows that feelings of loneliness are strongly associated with cognitive, emotional and behavioral problems; This is why loneliness is considered a public health problem worldwide, since it seriously affects the population, mainly adolescents under 18 years of age. The objective set out in this study was to describe the levels of loneliness in adolescents aged 16 and 17 from the Eugenio Espejo Educational Unit in the period March-August 2022; It had a quantitative research approach following a non-experimental, cross-sectional design with a descriptive scope. Data collection was carried out with the Ventura León & Caycho (2017) instrument, validated from the original Loneliness scale by De Jong Gierveld (1985) with a study population that comprised a total of 77 adolescents. The findings indicate that adolescents maintain a moderate level of loneliness with a tendency to severe levels, in addition, high levels of loneliness were identified in the participants who presented sociodemographic variables such as the situation of divorce in the parents, belonging to reconstituted families, not maintaining a relationship with a partner, poor or regular quality of relationship with their schoolmates, involvement in artistic activities, not belonging to social groups and lack of conformity with their physical appearance
