This paper presents the social phenomenon known as migration, and specifically the internal migration of young women from rural parishes to the urban area of the city of Cuenca, to perform domestic work as their labor activity. First, basic concepts about migration are presented. Then, reference is made to the legal bodies that support the rights that protect young migrant women. Next, the results of the interviews conducted with young migrant domestic workers and professional experts on migration issues are presented, which will serve as a basis for the proposal of public policy guidelines. These may serve in the future to improve the conditions in which they migrate, as well as the labor conditions in which they find themselves working.
