Social anxiety implies a disproportionate fear in situations of social interaction, in which the individual opts for behaviors that affect the performance of the human being in all its dimensions. This alteration of a cognitive, behavioral, and emotional nature is more prevalent in university students and is related to the appearance of other pathologies. Therefore, this research proposes a general objective to determine the relationship between psychological well-being and social anxiety in students of the Family Guidance course at the University of Cuenca, in the period 2022- 2023; and as specific objectives to identify the levels of psychological well-being and social anxiety present in the students. The study had a quantitative approach, with a non-experimental, cross- sectional, and correlational scope design. We worked on a sample of 97 students of the Family Orientation course. The instruments that were applied were the Ryff Psychological Well-Being Scale adapted to Spanish and the Liebowitz Scale for Social Anxiety. The results showed that the Family Orientation students at the University of Cuenca presented a moderate level of psychological well-being (M= 133.71) and a mild level of social anxiety (M= 24.69). No significant correlation was found regarding the relationship between these two variables (r=.061; p=.551). However, a relationship was found between the dimensions of each variable.
