Plan de mejoramiento de la señalización vial horizontal y vertical en el cantón Pallatanga provincia de Chimborazo, período 2021-2023

Abstract

This research work is a Plan for the improvement of horizontal and vertical road signage in Pallatanga canton, Chimborazo Province, it was made with the objective of designing a plan that will contribute to strengthening the framed road signage and complying with the principles and regulations of current techniques that regulate signaling and road safety focused on Pallatanga canton. For the development of the present investigation, a diagnosis of the current situation in Pallatanga canton was made, prior to the application of the research instruments, zoning was carried out in three specific areas and in them, the information was collected through observation sheets in the which the geometric and technical characteristics of the roads were recorded and within them, data such as track widths, number of lanes, operating speed, type of control devices, among others, were collected, as well as 372 surveys were applied to the population, where the current state in terms of horizontal and vertical signage in Pallatanga canton is better known. Once the fieldwork was completed, it was appreciated that there are deficiencies in road signage, for not complying with the pertinent characteristics such as the design and geometry of roads, for which an Improvement Plan for horizontal and vertical signage is prepared through propositional matrices that contain aspects and technical guidelines, also within this proposal a budget for the implementation was considered, which is approximately $43,213.04 US dollars. On the other hand, the socialization of this technical analysis is recommended, for consideration by the competent authorities in the jurisdiction of the study area.
