This research aims to determine the relationship between eating behaviour and the frequency in food consumption in school children, who are benefiting from the Compassion International Project Guaranda 2021. The sample was made up of 109 children between boys and girls. The methodology applied was cross-sectional, descriptive, non-experimental, of analytical axes; which intends to determine the relationship between the two given variables and to evaluate the statistical relationship between themselves. In that respect, three interviews were applied. Amongst the main results found by the analysis were the significative dimensions for eating behaviour were 49,5% presented a reduced frequency of fruit and vegetables consumption between once, twice and four times a week. Moreover, it was also found that 47,7%of children prefer eating fatty food than fruit between once to four times a week, which is related to the risk of children´s obesity and in consequence future non-transmissible chronic diseases. In the analysis with genders, girls showed a significantly less healthy diet than the boys. The results obtained are of great importance because through the investigation it could be shown the way in which children regulate their emotions allowing to control the quantity and quality of their diet, being this an effective strategy for dieting control.
