This article analyzes the communication of media oligopolies, how the media is distributed, what media concentrations there are in Ecuador, and the regulation of communication. With the advent of globalization, the media are interconnected within the world economies and have managed to form media conglomerates that belong to large power groups that look after their interests but violate the human right to communication. The research analyzes whether the communication managed by media oligopolies favors or obstructs freedom of expression and press. For this reason, the following research question is posed: How is communication in the main media oligopolies in Ecuador? The objective of the study is to analyze the communication of the main media oligopolies in Ecuador. The results show that media concentration limits the plurality of information, which is the key factor for the development of public opinion.
