The evangelical texts materialize in written form the oral tradition about the life of Jesus. In the John’s Gospel, we find stories in which we can outline both the personality and the faith process of Simon Peter: new identity, confession of faith, denial and confession of love. Thanks to the diachronic (exegetic) and synchronic (narrative) methods, it is possible to understand and deepen this process of faith, while the reader is invited to feel challenged and reflected in the person of Peter in his encounter with Christ.
